Many thanks to Alan and Steve for sending ATH cards over. ATH is now fixed and an image is being copied up as I blog this.
If you have trouble with you’re wireless nic settings showing up visit the assign interfaces area and reassing the wireless nic. It has to be “tagged” as a wireless type during the nic assignment.
If you’re trying to get a Soekris 4801 working make sure the bios has the CF card as primary!
To do this enter the bios by pressing ctrl-p on boot and:
set flash=primary
reboot
I’ve managed to get pfSense working with OpenBSD’s PF 3.7.
Only tradeoff at the moment is CARP doesn’t seem to be working correctly but I hear a new patch is in the works..

0.60.0+ has a more up to date ipfw.ko but breaks Traffic Shaping. We’re in the progress of backporting the latest current’s ipfw module to correct this behavior. Work is also starting on the removal of the IPFW/ALTQ dependency. We will handle the same behavior with some fancy PF Tag Foo.
In the last couple of versions the upgrade size has grown so that we can update every file on the system in preperation for binary diff updates. If you cannot upgrade manually you may need to issue these commands from a SSH session or from the console:
cd /usr/local/lib && fetch http://www.pfsense.com/phpfix/php.ini
cd /usr/local/etc && fetch http://www.pfsense.com/phpfix/php.ini
This will update the maximum file post size to allow future “large” upgrades.
After the long delay we’re proud to announce that it’s time for every user to upgrade to 0.60.7. A lot of work has gone into this release and this is now the pillar for future releases due to the delta aka binary diff updates.
Please update asap and keep the bug reports flowing in. We’re going to meet our beta milestone!
First of all, I have to tell you that a lot of stuff has gone into this release from 4-5 ppl. The amount of changes is alarming for us trying to get prepared for beta but its all starting to come together believe it or not. New to this release is a CARP + PFSync that works again. During the begining of the RC releases somehow this stopped working and we’re not sure why. At any rate, this version seems to be working pretty well. There may be some issues with magic shaper wizard so you may want to disable this option for the time being.
On another note, this release begins our binary diff process. This should be considered experienced users only. Do not upgrade if you are scared of problems
