pfSense at Texas Linux Fest 2012
I will be presenting on pfSense 2.1 and IPv6 at Texas Linux Fest, August 3-4 in San Antonio. We’ll also have a table in the exhibition area where I’ll be camped out most of both days talking to users, so if you’re in the area, stop by! Our friends at Netgate are providing an ALIX we’ll be giving away. Look forward to meeting many of you there.

Just don’t tell anyone that you’re not Linux and everything will be fine

haha I’ll keep that in mind, Marco.
We’ve done the BSD conference circuit for years, but I’ve started doing some of these Linux Fests in the US and they’ve turned out well. Lots of fans of the project there even if it isn’t Linux.

Stupid Marco…BSD is actually better than linux.

Good Luck Team.

Does this mean that PFSense 2.1 will be STABLE in August ?
July 16th, 2012 at 11:02 am
no relation to any release dates.

Whish I could.
But it’s going to be a hefty flight from Sweden to catch that.
I have to settle to fly up-north to my wife’s parents cottage by the sea.

For those of you in Europe, we’ll be at EuroBSDCon in Warsaw in October doing a full day training session. I’ll post about that once the official schedule is out.

What about Asia?

siavash: I may make it to AsiaBSDCon 2013, that remains to be determined.

I hope there will be an announcement soon for a good release candidate that’s sufficient for non-critical installations, I really want IPv6 for our office for testing.
July 25th, 2012 at 10:40 am
Paul: 2.1 has been sufficient for even critical IPv6 production installs for upwards of a year now.
July 28th, 2012 at 6:30 pm
As probably the biggest fan of pfSense in all of San Antonio, I will surely be there. Look forward to meeting you Chris!
July 29th, 2012 at 2:17 am
Derrick: Awesome, look forward to meeting you.

What do you mean by “2.1 has been sufficient for even critical IPv6 production installs for upwards of a year now.”?
Did you mean 2.1, or 2.0.1?
July 30th, 2012 at 7:13 pm
No I mean 2.1, lot of production installs running on it for upwards of a year for IPv6.
Everyone please take additional off-topic comments to the 2.1 board on forum.pfsense.org.

Guys,
can we get any video-slides of the session by any chance ?
